The turning point for me came when I was a Manager at Bain & Company 10 years ago. I went from an intense travel schedule to running multiple due diligence cases at once and - frankly - I was close to breaking point. Client pressure, Partner pressure, trying to help my teams be successful, plus trying to keep my personal relationships on track. Not to mention my own physical and mental health, which were suffering badly. I was tired, stressed, and not enjoying being a consultant - a job I was good at, and really enjoyed when my life was more in balance.
I realised I had to figure out a way to make consulting sustainable for me. Since those days I've developed a powerful toolkit for building resilience, specifically as a consultant. This combines practical tools honed "on the battlefield" with some fundamental concepts from the worlds of conscious leadership, human psychology, and the latest personality science.
This toolkit doesn't
just let me cope with stress better. It actually reduces the stress I
experience at all. It enables me to re-frame situations as learning
experiences, to keep things in perspective, and to build strong relationships
based on openness, trust, and vulnerability. In short: this toolkit makes being a
consultant less stressful, with immediate impact. It's helped me to be more productive, have more energy, and be able to balance my work with my other interests much more easily. These days I have my own consulting and outsourcing business, provide training courses, and also run a start-up focused on recruiting consultants, whilst balancing all that with being a Dad to my four young kids!
My resilience toolkit makes that possible.
The course is designed to be 1 - 1.5 hours per week of hands-on learning (including the practical exercises). To make sure you have time to implement the lessons in your live case work I release the modules each week over 5 weeks. This is a critical design feature that ensures you get immediate tangible benefit from the course!
*** Our next cohort will start on Friday 18th November 2022 ***
The course runs for 5 weeks, with each module released on a Friday morning. Once you've completed that week's lectures you can download the practical exercise and complete that. Other than the live sessions - which are at fixed times for obvious reasons - everything else is designed to be done flexibly around your case work.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to create a course?
